Directions:

The Thunderbolt docking station includes a 0.5-meter (19.7-inch) passive Thunderbolt to USB-C cable. A longer passive cable results in reduced bandwidth. For longer cables, Lenovo recommends an active Thunderbolt to USB-C cable, the Lenovo Thunderbolt 3 40G 5A Active Cable (part number: 4Z50P35645).

To enable the Thunderbolt Dock the first time you connect it to your computer, do one of the following: Confirm the change when prompted if you have administrator privileges. Enter the ThinkPad Setup program (BIOS) and access the Config menu. Select Thunderbolt 3 --> Security Level --> No Security. The docking station will enable automatically.

Before using the ThinkPad Thunderbolt 3 Dock: Make sure your computer's BIOS and drivers are up to date. Make sure the Thunderbolt drivers are installed on your computer. Make sure the Intel HD driver is up to date.
