Distinction between warranty and guarantee

The warranty period is the legally prescribed period within which the buyer of a product can complain about a defect that was already present at the time of transfer of risk (i.e., upon delivery). The warranty therefore covers all hardware defects and technical defects in the delivered item that were already present at the time of delivery, even if they are only discovered later.

A guarantee is a voluntarily granted promise that goes beyond the mere guarantee that the delivered goods will retain a certain quality over a certain period of time. Of course, a guarantee does not diminish the warranty in any way. The consumer's statutory rights are not restricted by it.

Warranty periods

We contractually shorten the warranty period for used goods to 12 months if the buyer is a consumer, and exclude this period entirely if the buyer is a business. Certain claims for damages are, however, exempt from this shortened period. Please refer to our Terms and Conditions (X. Warranty and Liability).

guarantee

The warranty period for an item is stated by us before purchase directly in the respective item description on it-versand.com and it-refurbished.net, or in the respective item description on the marketplace (Amazon, eBay, Refurbed, Backmarket, Conrad, Temu, Facebook, Google, etc.). The warranty period for an item is stated on the invoice and delivery note.

We (NET Online-Versand GmbH & Co. KG, Frankenstr. 152, D-90461 Nuremberg) are the guarantor of the warranty. Our warranty includes reimbursement of the purchase price (current value credit) for all damage not caused by force majeure, excluding natural, expected wear and tear of wearing parts. The exact wearing parts not covered by the warranty can be found in the product description. For notebooks, for example, the battery is considered a wearing part. The warranty period begins on the date of purchase. Warranty services do not extend the warranty period or create a new warranty. Claims must be made in writing within the warranty period. We will send you a DHL parcel label, which you can use to send your device to us postage-free. We will cover the return shipping costs, provided the claimed defect is within the scope of our warranty obligation. Following this, a refund will be made based on the current value of the device.

The it-versand.com and it-refurbished.net guarantee excludes:
-Problems with software, apps, software settings, as these are not technical hardware defects,
-Defects caused by the shipment not being packaged securely for transport,
-Defects caused by interventions that were not carried out professionally,
-Damage caused by improper handling,
-Damage caused by weather influences,
-Damage caused by overvoltage,
-Damages caused by computer viruses, programming or software errors,
-Natural wear and tear,
-Normal wear and tear.

If you return a defective item under warranty, you will receive a refund of the purchase price (current value credit). You are not entitled to a repair or replacement by it-versand.com and it-refurbished.net, or by an external service provider at the expense of it-versand.com and it-refurbished.net.

A current value credit takes into account the period of use a customer had as owner of the delivered item prior to the complaint. For example, if the item was used for 9 months out of a 12-month warranty period, a current value credit of 25% of the original purchase price will be issued.
